How do I build a work outfit from clothes I own?
Define the required formality first, then choose one anchor piece and test complete combinations for structure, proportion and footwear. Reject combinations that conflict with the dress code or create unresolved fit and hem problems.
What to compare
- Dress code. A creative office, formal interview and client meeting need different thresholds.
- Anchor. Begin with the jacket, trousers, dress or shoes that must be included.
- Proportion. Check top length, waist position and volume across the full outfit.
- Practicality. Include weather, walking, sitting and bag requirements.
What this cannot prove
- A flat lay does not prove on-body fit.
- When the dress code is unknown, the safest output is a conditional recommendation.
